クズ (屑; kuzu) : waste, scrap, garbage (note that for the title of this Manga, this word is stylized in Katakana)
本懐 (honkai) : one’s long cherished desire
I’m starting a new series, #MangakaraManabou (マンガから学ぼう; lit. meaning: let’s learn from manga）! Since I’ve started learning Japanese about 7 years ago, Manga has played quite a key role in expanding my breadth of vocabulary. It’s especially helpful in learning onomatopoeic words (e.g. dokidoki, betabeta, moyamoya) and colloquial expressions.
Manga content is usually not too sophisticated, so it’s less intimidating for Japanese learners. Hope what I share here can spread the love for Japan and its language, and help anyone who’s interested to learn! 🙂
